Issue 4. July 2015 Edition
Greetings to all subscribers and followers of the Eonza project.
During the past month we developed a number of improvements to work with uploaded photographs and documents. First, now you can preview photos without actually downloading them and without switching to new tabs. Second, all attached MS Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) can now be viewed in a browser thanks to Microsoft online viewer.
We have added ID sorting to tables and a hidden column to store the time when records were last modified. To hide or show this column, click the button below the table. Note, by default all records in a table are sorted by time of last change, from the most recent to the oldest ones.
We also added additional information to the Administrator - System Information page. In the current version you can learn the size of the database and the size of files uploaded to the disk.
We have fixed bugs and errors we were able to locate. For example, if wrong field parameters were specified during creation or editing of a table, the system rolls back if such an error is detected. Previously, table structure was damaged and the access to the table was lost.
Future plans:
- We are working on a cross-platform application for backup of uploaded files that are stored on the disk, not in the database. The entire synchronization will be performed via HTTP, so no FTP or SSH access will be required.
- We would like to implement a possibility to display several columns of the linked table instead of just one field.
