Issue 5. August 2015 Edition
Dear Eonza project subscribers! For the past month we finally brought the backup matter to close. Now, a free cross-platform file backup program is available to everyone. The app supports backing up files that were uploaded to the system and stored on the disk. Backup Eonza Files works via HTTP and doesn’t need access via the FTP or SSH. You simply enter your information storage login and password to authorize, that’s it. Besides, the program, can create or download backup copies of the database itself. The Go source code is available too.
The second improvement is the ability to select several columns in Link to table type. For example, you can add a linking column to the Users table and display both the name and the phone number in this column of the table.
Often users already have some information in text files or Excel documents. To make the transfer of your data to Eonza tables easier we implemented import from CSV files. When you view a table, click the Import button and open your .csv file in the specified encoding. Upon loading, the script automatically determines the number of elements in each record, so you only have to specify a field of the table where each parameter should be imported to.
Future plans:
We plan adding import from.xlsx files as well as implement .csv and .xlsx export. This will allow to save excerpts from tables in common file formats. Also, we plan to implement the support for multi-selection in Link to table fields. Currently, only one-to-one relation is supported.
Current version 2.3.0, August 20, 2015.
